UFC fighter wins bout with historic choke submission

A Russian heavyweight created UFC history after becoming the first fighter to finish an opponent with an Ezekiel choke submission.

Aleksei Oleinik pulled off what no other fighter had managed to do in his bout with Viktor Pesta at UFC Fight Night 103.

Known as 'The Boa Constrictor,' Oleinik lived up to his nickname with a stunning manoeuvre to defeat his Czech opponent.

The Russian came out with an aggressive approach to get the Czech man onto the canvas early but the ploy almost backfired on him.

Pesta was happy to take the fight to the mat, but Oleinik stuck to his strategy of trying to win by submission and it paid off big time.

The Czech man slipped out of Oleinik's first submission attempt and looked to have escaped the Russian's grasp after moving into a dominant mount position.

But Oleinik quickly tightened the grip with his arms around Pesta's neck, leaving the giant Czech with no choice but to tap out.

The win takes Oleinik's UFC record to 3-1 with all of his victories coming in the opening round of his fights.
