UFC boss's touching message to Ronda Rousey

Dana White has described the scenes of devastation in Ronda Rousey's dressing room after her brutal loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.

After more than a year away from the Octagon, Rousey finally made her return last weekend and was predicted to return with a bang.

But Nunes had other ideas, scoring a shock TKO victory in just 48 seconds.

Rousey was understandably crushed, leaving the Octagon without addressing the media.

And UFC president Dana White said it wasn't just her who was devastated.

"When I walked out of the arena, people were crying," White said during the post-fight telecast.

White also paid tribute to Rousey and described the scene post fight in her dressing room:

"I went in there and hugged her for 45 minutes," White told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "I told her, 'I love you so much, and whatever you want to do next, I got your back. You built this. This doesn’t exist without you. You're the best decision I ever made'."

A shattered Rousey reportedly "barely said a word" when joined by White.

When the dust settles on Rousey's latest loss, it’s likely her tremendous accomplishments will come back into focus.

She single-handedly brought women into the UFC, made them an integral part of the promotion, and, along with Conor McGregor, helped fuel the modern-day UFC’s second major boom period after several down years.
