Mayweather promises to 'slap' McGregor

The long-running will they-won’t they saga continues as Floyd Mayweather dishes out a nasty little taunt to Conor McGregor.

A fight between the boxing and UFC superstars is always, apparently, on the horizon.

Whether they ever actually agree to terms or not remains to be seen. But in the meantime at least they keep the banter flowing and the fans lap it up.

The most recent missive came during a profanity-laden Periscope session on the back of a yacht where Mayweather said he was going to ‘slap’ McGregor next time he sees him.

“I don’t give a f*** what night it was, I ain’t never taking no L. I’m f***ing McGregor up too. Punk-a** McGregor… I’m gonna slap McGregor. I’m gonna slap the s**t out of McGregor when I see him.”

This comes on the back of Mayweather’s rant to FightHype after McGregor applied for a boxing license in California intimating that he was doing it so he could face the boxer in the ring.

Mayweather wasn’t buying it.

“I don’t fight in California. What did he get a license in California for? .... I’m [going to] tell you like this, he’s blowing smoke up everybody’s a**. He don’t really want to fight because I went to his boss. He don’t really want to fight. He’s just doing that to keep his name alive, you know what I’m saying, to stay relevant. He don’t really want to fight. He’s doing that building his followers, but he’s smart.”
