Devastating blow to UFC Melbourne

Luke Rockhold has been forced to withdraw from his UFC Melbourne main event bout with Ronald 'Jacare' Souza, reportedly due to a sprained ACL.

Jacare is now without an opponent for UFC Fight Night 101 at Rod Laver Arena on November 27, with officials yet to confirm if a replacement opponent will be brought in.

The withdrawal of Rockhold is a huge blow to UFC Melbourne, with the fight expected to draw a huge audience in Australia.

However local middleweight Robert Whittaker will still be a drawcard as he takes on Derek Brunson.

The UFC also has the option to bring in a totally new fight to the main card.
