'His heart just wouldn't stop beating': Incredible details of Muhammad Ali's final moments

Muhammad Ali's daughter has revealed the boxing champion fought hard until the very end as his heart continued to beat for an incredible 30 minutes after his organs had failed.

Hana Ali posted details of her legendary father's last moments, saying "all of his organs failed but his HEART wouldn't stop beating".

"For 30 minutes...his heart just kept keeping. No one had seen anything like it.

"A true testament to the strength of his Spirit and Will! (sic)"

Family confirmed the 74-year-old died from septic shock at 9:10pm on Friday 'due to unspecified natural causes' after initially being brought into hospital for breathing problems.

He passed away after bidding farewell to his wife and children at his bedside.

The sportsman - who suffered a long battle with Parkinson's disease - will be remembered at a public service at the KFC Yum! Centre in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday 10th June starting at 2pm.

A family spokesperson has confirmed that the service will feature eulogies from former president Bill Clinton, Billy Crystal and Bryant Gumbel.

Meanwhile, to remember the late star, fans have been sharing a poignant excerpt from his 2004 memoir 'The Soul of a Butterfly', where he specifies about how he'd like to be remembered.

"I would like to be remembered as a man who won the heavyweight title three times, who was humorous and who treated everyone right.

"As a man who never looked down on those who looked up to him, and who helped as many people as he could. As a man who stood up for his beliefs no matter what. As a man who tried to unite all humankind through faith and love.

"And if all that's too much, then I guess I'd settle for being remembered only as a great boxer who became a leader and a champion of his people. And I wouldn't even mind if folks forgot how pretty I was."
