MMA fighter misses title fight after bizarre weigh-in

Venator FC had to know they were taking a risk when they inked a deal with troubled fighter Jason "Mayhem" Miller to face fellow UFC veteran Luke Barnatt for the promotion's middleweight championship on Sunday in Italy.

They probably didn't, however, see him completely disregarding the weigh-in, at least, not in the manner that he did.

Miller stepped on the scale on Friday weighing 209 pounds (95 kilograms). That is a full 24 pounds (11 kg) over the 185-pound limit for the weight class in which he was supposed to be competing for a championship.

That obviously nixed the title fight. There were reportedly brief talks about going ahead with a non-title fight between the two, but the promotion instead opted to have have Barnatt face Stefan Croituru for the middleweight title.

Miller hasn't set foot in the cage since 2012. He is more well known recently for various legal issues and speculation about his mental stability.
