Mundine makes outrageous demands of Australian PM

Anthony Mundine is known for outlandish statements but he may just have reached new heights this morning.

Mundine was on Triple M’s Hot Breakfast show this morning promoting his upcoming fight against American Charles Hatley.

But as expected the conversation with Eddie McGuire soon turned to his rival/nemesis Danny Green and the possibility of a re-match.

Mundine was obviously open to the fight, as it would certainly provide his biggest pay-day in a while.

TRUMPET BLOWING: I'm better than Hayne: Mundine

However his list of stipulations he required to get the fight across the line were brazen, even by his own standards.

“There will be three stipulations if we have that fight,” Mundine said.

“The weight would be one, drug testing would be another one. And when I do beat him again, I want Malcolm Turnbull to recognise my people on the flag and recognise my people on the anthem and then we got a fight.”

So Anthony Mundine thinks Australians want to see him fight Green so much that the Prime Minister will change the flag and the national anthem so we get the privilege?

McGuire chuckled as much as you probably did just then, joking: "I reckon Danny can sign up for two of those."

This comes on the back of Mundine’s comments on Tuesday that he is again, the greatest athlete in Australia’s history and that Jarryd Hayne’s foray into the NFL had nothing on the achievements of ‘The Man’.

“All the hype that Jarryd — I’m not a hater ... I’m a positive dude and send positive vibes and Jarryd Hayne, what he’s doing is magnificent,” Mundine said.

“But I’ve done so much more in so much of a harder sport. To switch from a team to an individual sport as boxing. And he’s going from a team to team. He’s doing well, but it’s gonna be hard.”
