MMA fighter Harvey Park has revealed a truly sickening mid-fight injury he suffered during a Legacy Fighting Alliance bout.
The 32-year-old somehow managed to beat Leville Simpson in the LFA 53 undercard fight in Phoenix, Arizona – but it came at a hefty cost.
Park broke his finger so badly in the first round of the fight, the bone pierced through the skin and was held in place by only the gloves:
In the video above, Park was assessed by doctors in the octagon who allowed him to continue for a further two rounds:
Somehow, he prevailed victorious.
The lightweight revealed the bloody toll the bout took on his body, in a gruesome social media post shortly afterwards.
Park bravely continued to fight despite the bloody mishap, taking the fight to Simpson in the third and final round.
The fighter from New Mexico was eventually awarded the win based on a unanimous decision, before he quickly received medical treatment.
A photo uploaded after receiving an X-Ray revealed the true extent of the damage:
“People have been asking for the x-ray,” he tweeted.
The win was Park’s first in the LFA, but he is now set for a stint on the sidelines to recover from the injury.
