MMA fighter disqualified over sickening cheap shot
A fiery MMA fight staged in Moscow quickly turned ugly over the weekend, after one fighter’s cheap shot caused all hell to break loose.
The intense build-up to the Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB) fight between Georgi Karakhanyan and Tumir Nagibin ensured fireworks would soon follow.
But nothing prepared viewers and fans for what was about to play out.
Karakhanyan prevailed victorious from the affair, due to being on the receiving end of a sickening cheap shot from Nagibin after the gong.
Nagibin fired a clean hit to the jaw of Karakhanyan – sending him to the canvas – after the fighter denied he was tapped out at the end of the opening round.
A long delay ensued as officials tried to make sense of the incident, with Nagibin being eventually disqualified for his late attack.
The scenes that then erupted in the stadium as Nagibin attempted to make his way from the octagon to his dressing room was intense.
Fans of Karakhanyan all tried to get a piece of Nagibin on his way from the ring, with brawls breaking out and riot police called in to diffuse the escalating situation:

Reports have recently surfaced that ACB will ensure a rematch between the two fighters in 2019 – and only time will tell what scenes will unfold as they look to settle the score.
