MI Cape Town secure SA20 play-off spot
MI Cape Town secured their place in the SA20 play-offs with a 10-wicket thrashing of defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
Chasing 108 to win Ryan Rickelton (59 not out off 36 balls) and Rassie van der Dussen (48* off 30) powered them to a 10-wicket win with 54 balls remaining.
It is only the second 10-wicket win in the tournament's three-year history and the fourth-biggest winning margin in terms of balls remaining.
Sunrisers, who have won the first two editions of the tournament, were bowled out for 107 in 19.2 overs.
David Bedingham made 45 at the top of order but only three batters made double figures.
MI Cape Town join Paarl Royals in the play-offs. England's Joe Root has starred for Royals in the group stage but is set to miss the knockouts because of their 50-over tour of India.
Sunrisers are third and likely need to win their final game to have a chance of progressing.
