MI Cape Town finish group stage with Capitals win
Table-toppers MI Cape Town finished their group stage campaign with a 95-run hammering of Pretoria Capitals.
Connor Esterhuizen (69) and Sediqullah Atal (74) put on 133 for the opening wicket as the league leaders posted 201-5 having won the toss and chosen to bat.
England batter Will Jacks was dismissed from the first ball of the Capitals' reply, caught behind off the bowling of spinner Dane Piedt.
Compatriot Will Smeed (15) was also removed cheaply, while New Zealander Jimmy Neesham (32 from 24) top-scored, having also taken 3-32 in MI Cape Town's innings.
Jason Behrendorff was the last man to fall as the Capitals was all out for 106 in the 14th over.
The result has no effect on the make-up of the play-offs, with the line-up already decided prior to this match.
MI Cape Town face second-placed Paarl Rocks in the first qualifier on Tuesday (15:30 GMT), with the winner going straight to the final and the losers playing the victors of Wednesday's eliminator between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings (15:30 GMT).
The Capitals finish in fifth position, one short of the play-offs, having won two of their 10 games.
