'Absolutely incredible': Aussie Matt Wilson equals world record in stunning swim
Aussie Matthew Wilson has created history equalling the world record in the semi-final of the 200m breaststroke at the FINA World Championships.
Wilson swam an incredible 2:06.67 to finish first in the semi-final and equal the world record held by Japanese opponent Ippei Watanabe.
Watanabe qualified sixth fastest for the final, which will be a hotly contested race with second Anton Chupkov from Russia and American Andrew Wilson both posting impressive times.
Australian Zac Stubblety-Cook also qualified for the final.
The swimming world quickly congratulated Wilson for his incredible world record.
