Mariska Hargitay Gets Birthday Love by Pals Brooke Shields, Ali Wentworth, Plus “SVU” Stars Past and Present

Wentworth commemorated the special day by sharing the festive birthday cakes she's made the 'Law & Order: SVU' star over the years

Mariska Hargitay's loved ones are rallying to celebrate the start of her brand new decade!

In honor of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star's 60th birthday on Tuesday, her closest friends and costars of past and present shared touching tributes to Instagram.

Kicking off the tributes, Brooke Shields shared a series of photos and videos of the duo over the years to celebrate Hargitay's milestone birthday.

"Happy birthday @therealmariskahargitay," she wrote alongside shots of the friends on a jumbotron, making funny faces with their children, rehearsing lines and cute selfies. "Through the laughs & the tears, so much love and of course fun! 🎈❤️."

Ali Wentworth commemorated the special day by sharing the birthday cakes she's made for the actress over the years.

On her Instagram Story, Wentworth posted a picture of Hargitay holding a homemade cake while wearing a flower crown. Posing alongside a two tiered pink frosted confection, the birthday girl could be seen wearing a huge smile and a black floral dress with puffed sleeves.

"I'VE MADE BIRTHDAY CAKES FOR THIS BESTIE FOR YEARS!" Wentworth wrote before sharing a series of pictures that featured birthday cakes of past.

The next slide photographed Hargitay smiling next to a chocolate cake adorned with blue sprinkles and white nonpareils arranged into the letter "M." The baked good was also decorated with pink flowers and a white starfish. Another photo captured the actress about to blow out the candles on a cluster of cupcakes and macarons.

Next, Wentworth posted a green two-tiered cake with white sprinkles, yellow candies, assorted flowers and a photo of Hargitay in the center placed atop angel wings. She then shared a shot of a multi-tiered chocolate cake surrounded by pictures of the actress and their favorite moments. The last cake was white with pink sprinkles, and like the others before, the celebratory treat was embellished with photos, a pink flower and a friendship bracelet.

Wentworth rounded out her birthday tribute with a final photo of her with Hargitay sharing an embrace and a slice of cake.


Hargitay's former Prince Street costar Steven Martini also paid tribute to the actress in celebration of her birthday.

"1-23-24 is Mariska Hargitay’s birthday," he wrote alongside a montage of throwback photos of the old cast. "Did you know that before she was Olivia Benson on Law and Order, Mariska played an under cover cop alongside myself, Joe Morton, Vince Spano, Lawrence Monoson and Dana Eskleson on the NBC drama Prince Street?"

"Happy Birthday Mariska! 🎂 #mariskahargitay #lawandordersvu," he concluded.

The slideshow featured the group jamming out with guitars and blowing out the candles during one of Hargitay's previous birthdays.

In a video posted to the official Instagram page for Law & Order, Hargiray's SVU costars left a sweet message on her special day.

"Mariska Hargitay, muchísimas felicidades," Octavio Pisano wrote, wishing her a Happy Birthday in Spanish. Peter Scanavino jokingly spoke gibberish in response to his costar's sentiments before adding, "Happy Birthday."

Next up, Camryn Manheim gushed, "I just want you to know, when I met you 30 years ago, I knew how special and enlightened and soulful and wise you are. And for some reason you've proved me wrong because you are all that and magnificent."

"We love you Mariska, you are just simply the best of our generation and I am so proud to know you and walk with you in this lifetime," she concluded.
