Manchester United host Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford needing just a point to confirm their qualification for the round of 16 in the knock-out stage.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side enter the contest on a high after Edinson Cavani grabbed a brace at St Mary’s, with his second coming in stoppage time to clinch all three points against Southampton last weekend.

FOLLOW LIVE: Man United vs PSG – latest updates

There are fond memories for Solskjaer of recent meetings with PSG, including Marcus Rashford’s late winner in Paris in the first game between the sides in a fascinating group H, where the Red Devils lead the Ligue 1 giants and RB Leipzig by three points on nine points with two games to spare.

So while the last 16 is tantalisingly close, defeat here could leave United in a precariously position entering the final game of the group travelling to Germany, with Julian Nagelsmann’s side eager to move into the top two ahead of their match with Istanbul BB.

Prediction

United only need a draw to confirm their status in the last 16, but PSG are three points off the Red Devils, with RB Leipzig able to also move to nine points with victory over Istanbul BB. This added urgency leaves us to lean towards an away victory, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side holding a clear advantage in recent head-to-heads. United 1-2 PSG.
