Makelele and Clement to be reunited

French legend Claude Makelele was once part of Swansea City’s staff under Paul Clement.

Now the man who had a midfield position named after him is poised to reunite with Clement in the dugout.

Makelele, 51, is expected to be named manager of Greek top-flight side Asteras Tripolis having left his role in Chelsea’s loan department last year.

He will be assisted by Clement, having worked under the Englishman during his spell in charge at Swansea.

Clement kept Swansea in the Premier League after taking charge in January 2017, but departed in December that year with the club bottom of the table and heading for the Championship.
