“Love Is Blind”'s Chelsea reveals why Jimmy broke up with her again after filming ended

"He called me and said he realized he didn't want a relationship," Chelsea tells EW.

Warning: This article contains spoilers about the Love Is Blind season 6 finale.

There was more to Chelsea Blackwell and Jimmy Presnell's story beyond what fans saw on Love Is Blind season 6.

While it seemed as if their relationship ended in the finale when Jimmy called off their wedding and Chelsea left in tears, they actually continued dating after the cameras stopped filming.

"We tried to date for days after, and we really tried," Chelsea tells EW. "We tried our hardest and it just didn't work out."

Just like what happened in the finale, Jimmy was the one to call things off the second time. "He called me and said he realized he didn't want a relationship," Chelsea says. "This experiment was a lot on him and it just didn't work out."

But despite the two breakups, Chelsea says that she and Jimmy are "in a really good spot" now, almost a year later.

"We've both been really leaning on each other right now because it's very intense," she says. "He's been so supportive of me and it's been really, really refreshing. It made me kind of realize why I fell in love with him in the first place."

It's taken them both a long time to get here, however. "We didn't talk for months and months and months and months," Chelsea says of their second breakup. "This is very new where we realized for both of our mental health we needed to rekindle and lean on each other. We're the only people in the world who understand our story."

But she clarifies that she and Jimmy are just friends now. "I am the most single lady on the block," she adds with a laugh. "I really needed this time, this past year, to work on myself, obviously, and work on my mental health and work on my physical health — just really focus on me. And it's been amazing. I'm very happy right now. It's a really, really good feeling to feel this way."

The Love Is Blind season 6 reunion is now streaming on Netflix.
