Liverpool boosted by James Milner return ahead of FA Cup clash vs Chelsea
Jurgen Klopp has revealed that James Milner could make his return to action when Liverpool travel to Chelsea in the FA Cup on Tuesday.
The midfielder missed the Reds’ 3-2 win over West Ham earlier this week with what was described as a ‘minor muscle issue’.
However, he is already back in training and could be ready for the upcoming cup trip to Stamford Bridge.
Klopp also issued a positive update on the progress made by both Jordan Henderson and Xherdan Shaqiri.
The club captain is back out on the pitch as he looks to overcome a hamstring injury sustained against Atletico Madrid, while Shaqiri is closer than ever to training once again after battling with a muscle complaint.
The Liverpool manager said: “All coming much closer. Hendo is running, Milly is running and even more.
“It was not enough for this game now, but we will see - especially with Milly - what we can do for Tuesday.
“Not sure about Hendo and Shaq, not yet, but they are all coming closer.”
Apart from long-term absentee Nathaniel Clyne (knee), Liverpool have no other fitness concerns ahead of this weekend’s Premier League visit to Watford.
