Liverpool 3-0 Brentford - analysis

BBC Sport's Gary Rose at Anfield: "Brentford have firmly put behind them a torrid September in which they failed to win a game and they arrived at Anfield looking to make it four wins in a row.

"Given Liverpool's home record, that was always going to be a tough task but Thomas Frank set his side up as well as he could and they had a couple of very decent opportunities on the break when the game was goalless.

"But Mohamed Salah's goal meant they had to adjust and as they came forward more, Liverpool were able to exploit the gaps.

"A result here would no doubt have been viewed as a bonus and they can be encouraged that they gave Liverpool far more of a game than the scoreline suggests."
