Lindsey Vonn and P.K. Subban announce engagement

Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn and NHL All-Star P.K. Subban are engaged. The two made the announcement in a story for Vogue.

The two started dating in 2018, and have been the subject of plenty of attention given their status in the sporting world. Vonn, 34, and Subban, 30, even appeared together on the cover of “Sports Illustrated,” where they were billed as “The Perfect Match.”

Subban — who was traded to the New Jersey Devils in June — bought Vonn’s ring Aug. 14. He decided to make the engagement a low-key affair, and proposed to Vonn at home in front of their dogs, according to Vogue.

On August 14, he went to his go-to jeweler, XIV Karats in Beverly Hills, and picked up the ring that he’d been waiting for: an emerald, because her favorite color is green, and it’s his birthstone. “I got the ring and said, ‘You know what? I’m just going to do it home.’ Everything kind of came together on that day. Everyone says the stars aligned—well, it was actually a full moon. I was worried because I knew she would want to be dressed up and not in her pajamas, and it just so happened she had a business meeting, so she was fully dressed up.”

The two haven’t scheduled a date for their wedding just yet. Vonn told Vogue that they were going to enjoy their engagement and focus on the upcoming hockey season. She added that she wants the wedding to be emerald green, the color of her engagement ring from Subban.
