Levein dismissed by Saints

St Johnstone have "parted company" with manager Craig Levein.

The Perth club, who have lost four of their opening five league games this season, confirmed the 59-year-old's dismissal in a short statement.

It said: "The board of directors can announce that St Johnstone Football Club has today parted company with manager Craig Levein.

"The football club would like to place on record its thanks to Craig for all of his efforts during his time at McDiarmid Park.

"Andy Kirk and Alex Cleland will take charge of the team ahead of Saturday's game against Ross County.

"A further update will follow in due course."
