Radradra snubs Eels to stay in French rugby

Semi Radradra will not return to the NRL any time soon after it was announced he would leave Toulon to join Top 14 rivals Bordeaux-Begles at the end of the season.

The former Fiji and Australia rugby league international signed a one-year deal with Toulon for the current campaign after quitting the Parramatta Eels to switch codes.

The 25-year-old left the door open for a return to the club later this year or for the 2019 season but has turned his back on that option.

Eels coach Brad Arthur had spoken of his desire to get his former star player back in rugby league as late as December, after adding former fullback Jarryd Hayne to the squad.

Radradra's long-term deal opens up the possibility of representing Fiji Sevens team at the Commonwealth Games and Olympics.

He could also chase a place in the nation's 2019 Rugby World Cup squad.

The powerhouse winger scored two tries in Toulon's 36-12 victory over his future employers at Stade Mayol last weekend.
