Manly fans furious over possible Pearce arrival
Manly fans have taken to social media in their droves to publicly condemn the possible signing of recently released Mitchell Pearce.
With news of Blake Green's departure sending shockwaves through the club's fanbase, just minutes after the Roosters announced the release of Pearce, fans instantly connected the dots.
NOT A FAN: JT criticises Pearce's decision to quit Roosters
While some fans were excited that their club could soon be acquiring the current NSW halfback, the vast majority were not happy with the possibility, taking to Twitter and Facebook to let the club know their feelings.
Comments ranged from passionate threats to quit the club to more subtle suggestions that Pearce wouldn't fit in alongside current playmaker Daly Cherry-Evans.
But all should be food for thought for Sea Eagles management as they progress negotiations with the the halfback who's played 238 games for the Tricolours.
A few fans let their feelings known via Twitter.
Doesn’t want to play 5/8 and not be dominant ball player at Roosters. Joins Manly to play 5/8 and not be dominant ball player. Makes sense 🤔

what a waste we will now get peace most one of the most overrated players in the NRL should of just kept Blake green at the club and when he retired he could become a harvs coach and we could use Tom Wright#Barrettout #bringbacktoovs

A tonne of fans took to Facebook to let their feelings known on the club's official statement regarding the release of Green.
However some fans took a more positive view of the probable purchase.
If Pearce does in fact end up signing on the dotted line with the Northern Beaches club, he could evidently face a tough time getting on the right side of the fan base.
It will be yet another tough challenge for the often maligned playmaker, who struggled with his decision to exit the Roosters in the wake of their decision to sign Cooper Cronk.
"Obviously, this hasn't been an easy decision for me to come to, but I feel that it's the right one," Pearce said in a statement on Monday.
"I've been with the Roosters since I was 17 and have grown into a man here. I've made a lot of close friends at the club, and I've always been proud to wear the Roosters jersey.
"The Roosters club and people there will always mean a lot to me, but I'm looking forward to the opportunity and challenge joining a new club will bring, while continuing to push myself to be the best halfback I can be.
"Now that I've made this decision, hopefully I'll have the rest of my future sorted over the next few weeks."
