Titans set to appoint Panthers assistant as coach

Panthers assistant Garth Brennan is just days away from being appointed coach of the Gold Coast Titans.

The NRL-owned club had slowly narrowed down the options to replace Neil Henry, who left the role late in the 2017 season.

Brennan, who led Penrith's reserves to a premiership this year and won the NRL State Championship, met with Gold Coast this week to shoot up the shortlist.

He jumped ahead of well-regarded former Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire to secure the role, though Broncos assistant Jason Demetriou is said to have made a strong case.
