7th Tackle: Bulldogs director steps down

There’s plenty of focus on Canterbury’s boardroom politics, with talk of a rebel ticket being formed to challenge the incumbents next February.

The Bulldogs directors held their monthly board meeting on Tuesday night and were surprised when long-time counterpart Anthony Elias announced his resignation.

Elias has served for 15 years, his tenure starting well before current chairman Ray Dib took power.

Dib told us Elias had stepped down to concentrate on his Newcastle-based family and business.

At present there are no immediate plans to replace Elias.
