Josh Reynolds in hot water over boozy bar incident

Canterbury will investigate allegations Josh Reynolds abused a security guard and failed to leave a licensed premises during an alcohol-fuelled Friday night in Cronulla.

One day after the Bulldogs' loss to Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium, Reynolds is reported to have been kicked out of Northies Cronulla Hotel for being too intoxicated.

"There have been allegations of an incident involving Josh Reynolds at the weekend. At this stage the club are investigating the details of these allegations. The club have informed the Integrity Unit and will be offering no more comment at this stage," the Bulldogs said in a statement on Monday.

According to News Corp, police were called at around 11.30pm after a female staff member tried to eject Reynolds.

"This guy was just out of line, his own players were trying to get him out of the place...he kept pushing them away," one witness reportedly told News Corp.

Reynolds reportedly wanted to finish his drink before leaving.

"Police are inquiring following a fail to quit incident at a licenced premises on the corner of Kingsway and Elouera Rd, Cronulla," a police spokeswoman said.

"It will be alleged a 28-year-old man was asked to leave the venue due to his level of intoxication after a verbal altercation with security. The man left the scene.

"Officers attached to Miranda Local Area Command attended and spoke to the man. Inquiries are continuing."

Reynolds is facing a $550 fine if he is charged with the fail-to-quit offence.

The five-eighth is leaving Canterbury at the end of the year to join Wests Tigers.
