7th Tackle: Mr Nice guy Trbojevic does it again

If representative selection was based on human decency, there would be no more deserving debutante in the history of Origin than Jake Trbojevic.

His hard-hitting form warrants reward, but given this is his first week in Blues camp as part of the 17 we thought it timely to mention this great story.

After representing the Kangaroos in Canberra two Friday nights ago, Trbojevic jumped straight on the Hume Hwy the following morning to race back to Sydney.

He had no NRL commitments with Manly, nor any third party or marketing engagements.

Instead, he was desperate to get to Leichhardt Oval in time for the NSWRL Harold Matthews Cup final, which involved younger brother Ben playing for Manly.

But Trbojevic wasn’t just a face in the crowd – he assisted with running the water from the sideline and giving encouragement.

He does likewise for Mona Vale’s U16s team and is often spotted at the oval mid-week, along with brother Tom, coaching the teenagers.
