7th Tackle: Cherry-Evans back at Maroons table

There's still life in Daly Cherry-Evans' bid to win back his Maroons jersey.

The Manly skipper was part of a select group of Sydney-based Queenslanders who were invited to dine with Origin coach Kevin Walters in Paddington last week.

MORE 7TH TACKLE:

Cherry-Evans was joined by Manly team mate Nate Myles, who is still in the frame for selection despite being 'rested' at club level a month ago.

Also in attendance were halves candidates Corey Norman and Moses Mbye, as well as Aiden Guerra from the Roosters.

Despite re-discovering career-best form over the past month, Cherry-Evans will only be a chance to crack the squad should Johnathon Thurston succumb to his shoulder injury.

But our mail suggests he'll be named for Game I, invited into camp and given every chance to keep his unbelievable streak of Origin appearances - currently standing at 36 - alive.
