Exclusive: Taylor to stay at Titans

Star Titans half Ash Taylor has told the Titans he won’t go on the open market and wants to sign a long term extension as soon as possible, Seven News can reveal.

The crafty Toowoomba raised talent could ink a deal as early as May, after giving a verbal commitment to the Titans that he will stay.

The 22-year-old’s already signed until the end of 2018 but is poised to ink a deal keeping him at the club until 2021 at least.

The Broncos had Taylor on a watch list as a replacement for Ben Hunt but it appears they will have to look elsewhere.

Taylor loves life at the Titans where his best friend Tyrone Roberts also plays.

The Titans will make Taylor one of the highest paid players at the club in a back-ended deal that will take into account the fact he’s likely to be a rep player in two to three years.

Taylor recently changed management to Black Money Entertainment, the same company that manages Roberts.

Black Money Entertainment revealed they were organising a meeting with Neil Henry later this month to work out the terms of the deal.
