7th Tackle: The 'dog shot' to blame for JT's black eye

One of the more bizarre sights over the off-season was Jason Taylor sporting ANOTHER black eye.

Media captured the Tigers coach with an impressive shiner when he left for New Zealand to tackle the Auckland Nines.

It revived memories of Taylor's acrimonious exit from South Sydney in 2009, when he was KO-ed by giant forward Dave Fa'alogo during Mad Monday celebrations.

There's been some nasty rumours doing the rounds about Taylor's latest injury, but we can confirm it was an even more treacherous act of foul play that felled him.

Taylor plays touch football every Tuesday night on Sydney's Northern Beaches and was felled by what onlookers have described as a "dog shot" from an opposition player.

"The bloke launched at him with the elbow cocked, and JT went down straight away," one observer said.

"It was a complete dog shot."
