Wests Tigers young gun axed amid salary cap dramas

There's more drama at Wests Tigers with young back rower Kyle Lovett given his marching orders.

7News understands Lovett has been told to leave immediately to help the club get under the salary cap for 2017.

It's understood the Tigers could be as much as $200,000 over the cap.

A local junior, the 23-year-old has played 43 first grade games and represented City Origin last season.

The latest drama comes just months after former skipper Robbie Farah was also forced out.

Last week coach Jason Taylor said the Tigers "absolutely" have a realistic chance of re-signing their quartet of off-contract stars on long-term NRL deals.

Captain Aaron Woods, together with fullback James Tedesco and halves Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks are set to become free agents when their deals expire at the end of the 2017 season.
