Eels sign speedster Josh Hoffman from Titans

The Parramatta Eels have begun their off-season business early by signing outside back Josh Hoffman from the Gold Coast Titans.

The 28-year-old, who has played 158 games in the NRL and represented New Zealand, will join the Eels on a three-year deal.

"Josh brings tremendous NRL experience and can play anywhere from one to six which ensures our squad will have strong competition across multiple positions," Parramatta coach Brad Arthur said.

"He has been a strong and consistent performer for the Titans over the past couple of years and he will provide a strong contribution to the club from 2017 and beyond."

Hoffman played all 25 games for the Titans this year, but his future at the Queensland club was placed under a cloud by the acquisition of star fullback Jarryd Hayne.

Spoilt for choice: Eels outside backs in 2017

The New Zealand international, who has also represented the Indigenous All Stars, joins Nathan Brown, George Jennings and Siosaia Vave as the Eels' new signings for 2017.

Titans coach Neil Henry paid tribute to the out-going centre as "durable and versatile", while Arthur expected his addition would intensify competition for spots in the Eels' backline.
