NRL star knocked out after vicious high shot in Koori decider

The Koori Knockout final has lived up to its name this year, with NRL star Josh Addo-Carr on the end of a brutal hit that he’ll probably have little memory of.

Former Wests Tigers flyer Addo-Carr was knocked out cold for the Redfern All Blacks after being on the receiving end of a vicious head high tackle against the Newcastle All Blacks.

The Melbourne-Storm bound star was on the verge of scoring a try out wide when he copped a swinging arm across the neck that caused the ball to spill from his hands and left the fullback lying motionless on the grass.

The incident sparked a push and shove between both teams, before Addo-Carr’s side eventually went on to win 40-12.

However, the 21-year-old wasn’t the only NRL player to come in for some questionable attention during the spiteful contest.

Latrell Mitchell took a series of jabs to the head from one of the Newcastle centres after crunching him in a tackle, but the Sydney Roosters youngster brushed it off by simply laughing in his opponent’s face.
