Dave Taylor lands face-first in backflip fail

Former NRL star Dave Taylor has hilariously attempted a backflip, landing face first in the failed attempt.

The former Maroons wrecking ball, who was well known for his athleticism, demonstrated some explosive power to get his 125kg frame in the air, but couldn't quite finish the job.

Taylor blamed his thongs in the accompanying Instagram post.

“Rule number 23 don’t try backflip with pluggers,” Taylor wrote.

Taylor is currently playing with the Catalans Dragons in France.
