Is this the biggest bombed try of 2016?

Warriors back rower Bodene Thompson butchered a certain try when he fumbled the ball over the line against the Canberra Raiders.

Thompson toed through a loose ball in the first half in New Plymouth and found himself in the in-goal with no one within cooee.

All the Kiwi international had to do was gather the ball and put it down, but he somehow managed to let it slip through his grasp for a knock on.

It's certainly the biggest howler in recent memory and will be hard to beat for blooper of the year.
