Dogs furious after Eels score off forward passes

With the Eels trailing 6-12, not one, but two passes appeared to be forward in the lead up to this Parramatta try last night, leaving Bulldogs fans ropeable.

Clint Gutherson showed a clean pair of heels and some fancy footwork to evade Will Hopoate and cross over, but Nathan Peats' initial pass out of dummy-half looked very suspicious, whilst later in the play Brad Takairangi appeared to also tap the ball forward.

Commentator Ray Warren described the pass as a "bit iffy," but the replays suggest the initial pass was more than that.

“[The pass] is forward out of the hands, then there is a bat-on that goes forward, and the touch judge, he was probably forward of the forwards,” he said.

Despite the investment in the multi-million dollar review system, the bunker cannot rule on forward passes, leaving he decision to the referees.
