Reynolds in hot water over referee touch?

Not only did Adam Reynolds suffer a second serious jaw injury against the Broncos, he also became the latest NRL player to put his hands on a referee.

The Rabbitohs halfback approached whistle-blower Jared Maxwell after Brisbane scored the opening try on Friday night, touching the referee on the shoulder.

Maxwell appeared to react to the contact and warned Reynolds.

Whether or not Reynolds comes under scrutiny from the match review committee likely won't matter much with South Sydney coach Michael Maguire revealing he returned to the field despite suffering a suspected fractured jaw.

Earlier this week Penrith's Sam McKendry became the third player this year to be found guilty of touching a referee - after Parramatta captain Kieran Foran and Brisbane speedster James Roberts had accepted early guilty pleas in the first three weeks.

The NRL's crackdown on contact with match officials has copped heavy criticism after vision of Mitchell Moses, Trent Merrin, Corey Norman and Jamie Soward touching referees surfaced but none was charged.
