Pearce's Origin future in limbo

NSW Origin coach Laurie Daley won't make a decision on Mitchell Pearce's Origin future until the investigation over his Australia Day bender is concluded by the NRL.

Daley broke his silence on the issue just a day after the NRL sent clubs a letter for players to behave themselves at this weekend's Auckland Nines.

He admitted he has an idea of what he will do but is not ready to make that known just yet.

"I'm just going to sit back and think about Mitch, hopefully he is OK and then we will make some determinations after that," Daley said.

"Mitch is a good kid, obviously he is struggling at the moment and my thoughts are with him and hopefully he gets himself right."

This is not the first time Daley has had to make a tough decision over Pearce, in 2014 the Roosters playmaker was dumped from the NSW side over an incident in Kings Cross.

"I think everybody is aware of what the standards are when they play for NSW and that's something we will uphold," he said.
