Lamar Jackson out in Week 18 as Ravens try and sneak into playoffs

The Baltimore Ravens will once again rely on Tyler Huntley with their playoff hopes in danger. Lamar Jackson was ruled out for Week 18's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, coach John Harbaugh announced Friday.

The game will mark Huntley's fourth start of the season. He's thrown three touchdowns against two interceptions in six games. He's also rushed for 222 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Jackson injured his ankle during a Week 14 loss against the Cleveland Browns. He's missed the past three games due to the issue. Huntley and Josh Johnson received starts with Jackson sidelined.

Ravens need help to reach playoffs

The Ravens already face long odds if the team hopes to make the playoffs. After a strong start to open the season, the Ravens dropped their last five games. The team holds a 3% chance to reach the postseason entering Week 18.

The Ravens must win their Week 18 game against the Steelers to have a shot at the playoffs. In addition to that, the Ravens need the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Chargers to lose in Week 18. Baltimore also needs the Miami Dolphins to lose or tie against the New England Patriots.

The Steelers are in a similar spot. The only way the team can make the playoffs is to beat the Ravens in Week 18. Pittsburgh, like the Ravens, would still need help from other teams to get in.
