Getafe have given club debuts to January signings Takefusa Kubo and Carles Alena and both played their part in a 3-1 La Liga win over 10-man Elche.

Kubo set up a goal after coming off the bench in his first match since joining Getafe on a loan from Real Madrid.

Barcelona loanee Carles Alena started and played the entire game in his debut for Getafe.

Elche took the lead through Raul Guti in the fourth minute, but the visitors rallied with goals by Marc Cucurella in the 39th, Jaime Mata in the 69th and Angel Luis Rodriguez in the 86th.

Elche playeda man down after midfielder Ivan Marcone was sent off in the 52nd for a foul on Alena.

The 19-year-old Kubo, who set up Mata's goal five minutes after entering the match, started the season playing with Villarreal but was sparingly used by coach Unai Emery.

Kubo played on a loan with Mallorca after being signed by Real Madrid in 2019.

Asked about the impact of Alena and Kubo, goal scorer Matta said: "They both like to be on the ball. They want the ball all the time and they will serve us well."

It was only the second win in 12 league matches for Getafe, who moved up to 13th place.

Elche, winless in 11 league matches, remained in the drop zone.

Meanwhile, mid-table Real Betis piled more misery on bottom-of-the-table Huesca beating them 2-0 at El Alcoraz.

Aissa Mandi headed in the opener on 77 minutes from Emerson's right-sided cross.

Desperate Huesca were handed a lifeline when Betis had Paul Akouokou sent off for a second yellow card offence on 81 minutes.

But in injury time Betis secured the points with Antonio Sanabria heading in Nabil Fekir's cross.
