Kakamega Homeboyz are keen to sign former Tusker striker Allan Wanga.

Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has confirmed to Goal that they have started talks to sign the much traveled striker, who was released by the brewers on Wednesday.

Wanga is among fourteen players, who were axed by Tusker after the club opted against extending their contracts that end in December 31, 2017.

“We are half way in regards to talks to sign Wanga. He is a good striker and can help us challenge for trophies next season,” Shimanyula told Goal on Thursday.

The list of nine players, who were released by Tusker include; Anthony Ndolo, George Mandela, Moses Ndawula, Victor Ndinya, Luis Tera, Danson Kago, Noah Wafula, Martin Kizza and Clifford Alwanga.

The other players, who will not be part of the team in the 2018 season due to expiry of their contracts include:- Stephen Owusu, Humphrey Mieno, Allan Wanga, James Situma and Cercidy Okeyo.
