Three wickets for Alana King and Beth Mooney's 45 not out have pushed Australia to a routine victory over Ireland in their T20 international in Bready.

Australia's opening fixture in the Twenty20 tri-nation series with Pakistan had been washed out a day earlier, but they were able to cruise home with 43 balls and nine wickets to spare on Sunday.

King, who claimed three wickets in an over on Saturday, was again tormentor-in-chief with another three-for (3-9 off four overs), including the key scalp of Rebecca Stokell after a well-made 22.

"Kingy's just an outstanding player," captain Mooney said.

"She's been waiting in the wings for a long time but she's absolutely grabbed her opportunity and doing an outstanding job ... and has some great energy about her which is what we're after when people come into to this group is bringing a great energy and great attitude and she's certainly one of those players."

Darcie Brown claimed 2-9 to help restrict Ireland to 8-99, who were boosted by 14 not out from No.9 Ava Canning.

The tourists had few worries in reply despite Alyssa Healy's dismissal for just 10.

Mooney and captain Meg Lanning (39no) put on an unbroken second-wicket stand of 68 to clinch victory in the 13th over after five wides to continue their Commonwealth Games preparations.

"For me its about making sure I've got really good intent, trying to hit the ball hard along the ground early and opening up the field," Mooney added.

"... summing up the conditions with the bat, obviously we got off to a pretty good start and then slowed down a bit but Meg and I had a great partnership at the back end there."
