The ruthless cleanout at North Melbourne has continued, and this time it was the coaches in the firing line.
The Kangaroos cut 11 players shortly after their season finished, including Majak Daw, Jamie Macmillan, Jasper Pittard, and Ben Jacobs.
Stars Ben Brown, Shaun Higgins, and Jared Polec could also be on the move as the club launches a complete rebuild.
The cull moved to the coaching ranks on Friday, with assistant coaches Jade Rawlings and Jarred Moore shown the door.
Rawlings still had two more years to run on his contract, and making the situation even more awkward is the fact his brother Brady is North Melbourne's general manager of football.
Development coach Heath Scotland, head of football performance Jason Lappin, part-time ruck coach Will Minson, and Next Generation Academy coach Michael Firrito were also axed.
Gavin Brown, Brent Harvey and Leigh Adams will continue with the club.
Sydney's 2005 premiership coach Paul Roos is reportedly in North Melbourne's sights for a part-time role at the club in what would be a mentoring role for rookie coach Rhyce Shaw.
North Melbourne finished with a 3-14 record this year to only narrowly avoid the wooden spoon.
"These are all quality individuals that sacrificed a lot for the club in our Queensland hub," general manager of football Brady Rawlings said in regards to the coaching cuts.
"I am truly sorry to see them go, but these decisions have been made in the best interests of the club and its future."
