Kam Chancellor injury update: Seahawks safety reportedly expected to miss rest of season

After losing cornerback Richard Sherman to a ruptured Achilles tendon last week, the Seahawks are reportedly facing another big loss in their secondary with Kam Chancellor.

NFL Network reported that Chancellor has seen multiple doctors to examine a neck injury he suffered last week in the Seahawks' win against the Cardinals, and he is likely to miss the rest of the season.

Earlier this week, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said on his 710 ESPN radio show that the team was uncertain if Chancellor would play Monday against the Falcons, but with this report, it may be much longer before the safety returns to the field.

“We don’t know yet. He had a stinger thing that happened during the game and we’re going to have to make sure he’s in good shape and he’s OK," Carroll said on Monday. "Don’t know right now. He’s going to get some tests and make sure. This is stuff that is so crucial that we do a really good job and take our time with and all that. We’re doing that.”

While it's not good news about Sherman and Chancellor, the Seahawks expect to get Earl Thomas back this week from a hamstring injury.
