Johnny Manziel tweets to stop comparing, Colin Kaepernick is way better than him

The former NFL quarterback is expected to serve as a backup to Hamilton Tiger-Cats starter Jeremiah Masoli for the entire upcoming season.

Johnny Manziel took a few minutes Saturday to offer a message to those who want to compare him and Colin Kaepernick.

The gist of his five tweets: Stop it.

"I’m tired of the @Kaepernick7 vs myself comparisons and anger," he opened with, prefacing his tweets with "(t)his will probably cause an uproar."

Manziel, who washed out in his previous attempts in the NFL, threw earlier this week in a pro day in San Diego and continues to harbor hopes of a comeback that he has called "the last of my last chances."

In contrast, the reasons Kaepernick, also a free agent, is not being signed are "non football based. The guy took a team to the Super Bowl and continuously wreaked havoc on the NFC West and the league," Manziel said, while also pointing out all the good that Kaepernick has done off the field in fighting social injustice.

"I rock with you," Manziel tweeted at Kaepernick in his final post. "All the best in your journey my friend wherever that takes you."
