Real Sociedad moved clear at to the top of Spain's La Liga as they won 1-0 at Cadiz to record a sixth straight league win - their equal best streak in the top flight.

Alexander Isak got the goal midway through the second half as he headed home Adnan Januzaj's cross.

Sociedad sit three points clear of Atletico Madrid, who have two games in hand, while fifth-placed Cadiz remain winless at home.

"We are very happy with the win and we are still leaders but we don't look at the table, the three points are the most important," said Isak, who scored his second goal of the season.

"We have to win these games with more goals but today it was just one.

"We are in a very good moment and we have the Europa League too where we want to do well. We are all very happy."

It was the second defeat in a row for Cadiz, who are playing in the first division for the first time since 2005-06.

"We knew they came into this match in good form and as the leaders," Cadiz defender Marcos Mauro said.

"We fought as hard as we could but in the end it wasn't enough."

Valencia are eighth after they came from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw away to Alaves.

The hosts got off to a superb start as Ximo Navarro had them in front just two minutes in and Lucas Perez doubled the lead from the penalty spot with a little over quarter of an hour gone.

But Manuel Vallejo pulled one back in the 72nd minute and Hugo Guillamon levelled the scores five minutes later.

Mid-table duo Eibar, who had Kike Garcia sent off late on for two bookings, and Getafe shared the spoils from a goalless draw.

Granada's strong early form was halted as Real Valladolid won 3-1 at Nuevo Los Carmenes to climb off the foot of the table.

Granada's Domingo Duarte cancelled out Oscar Plano's opener but Marcos Andre put Valladolid back in front before Jota's late strike.
