Irish Cup: Ards to appeal IFA decision to dismiss protest over Institute sixth round tie

Ards have decided to appeal the Irish FA Challenge Cup Committee's decision to dismiss the club's protest in relation to their sixth round tie against Institute.

Ards lodged an objection, claiming they were not notified of a late change to Institute's team sheet after Oisin Devlin's inclusion among the subs.

Devlin then came on at half-time as Institute won 1-0 at the Brandywell.

Institute are scheduled to play Linfield in their quarter-final tie.

That match has been fixed for Sunday 3 March, with a 13:00 GMT kick-off time.

The IFA said last Thursday night that its Challenge Cup committee had "unanimously agreed not to uphold the protest".
