Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.
Home and Away's Xander Delaney will prove to be the key to solving a big mystery for his sister Rose next week, after her boyfriend Mali Hudson is targeted in an attack on his home.
Later this week, Rose will try to surprise Mali with a romantic meal at the farmhouse, but the moment is ruined when the couple enter the kitchen to find the place trashed, with the words "Stay away from my wife" scrawled angrily across the tablecloth.
In scenes that will air on Channel 5 in the UK next week, Rose and Mali try to process the shock crime, which was seemingly unprovoked. Police officer Rose calls the incident in to her colleagues, while Mali maintains that he has no clue who could have broken into his home, or why.
After heading into work, a uniformed Rose has to do her duty and officially question her partner about the incident, which leaves Mali with a bad taste in his mouth.
But it looks like the mystery has been solved when Xander offers a new lead, confirming that the whole thing has been a big misunderstanding.
Xander explains that a woman flirted with him while he was leading a surf class on the beach, which made the woman's husband jealous. As Mali is the face of the surf business, the man wrongly assumed that Xander was Mali. Armed with this false information, he found out where Mali lived and trashed the place in a rage.
With the confusion over, Rose and Mali are finally able to be at peace.
Xander, meanwhile, feels responsible for the incident at Mali's house and wants to find a way to make it up to him. But after much pestering of the couple, he eventually backs down.
However, Xander still has a trick up his sleeve. To the surprise of both Rose and Mali, they arrive home to find a romantic dinner for two, complete with roses, all set up for them.
It's clear that Xander has found a way to help the couple out after all, and love is in the air for the pair as they enjoy their surprise dinner.
But who is going to say those big words, "I love you", first?
