Melbourne forward Jesse Hogan has escaped punishment for staging, while Eagles ruckman Nic Naitanui has been offered a one-game ban for rough conduct.
Hogan earned a free kick close to goal after being hit by St Kilda’s Jake Carlisle on Sunday but some thought he exaggerated the contact.
But AFL match review officer Michael Christian cleared both players over the incident, with Hogan not punished for going down easily.
Christian determined the force of Carlisle’s hit was not enough to warrant a charge.
In other news, Naitanui is likely to miss West Coast’s clash with GWS over an incident with Port Adelaide’s Karl Amon.
