With Super Bowl LIX less than a week away, I think it's high time to discuss the star-studded lineup of performers. Enter: Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, Lauren Daigle, and Ledisi, who have been announced as the sporting event's pregame entertainment.
According to the NFL's announcement, Jon Batiste is set to sing the national anthem, while Grammy-winning artists Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle will perform "America the Beautiful." Both performances will be preceded by a show from another Grammy-winner Ledisi, who is slated to put on a rendition of "Lift Every Voice and Sing" to kick off the pregame festivities. What's really cool: The pregame performers are all Louisiana natives.
Jon took to Instagram to celebrate the honor when the news was first announced back in November, writing, "Music is the ultimate unifier. Coming home for National Anthem."
Lauren also expressed her excitement about performing at the event, penning this touching caption on an IG post: "IT’S REAL. So incredibly thankful for the chance sing alongside Trombone Shorty at the Super Bowl LIX!!! Laissez les bon temps rouler, baby!!!! I am pinching myself! See you soon, everyone!! & to sing THIS song…what an honor!"
And Trombone Shorty (real name Troy Andrews) shared the same image, captioning it, "Excited to perform America the Beautiful with @lauren_daigle at the Super Bowl and to represent the city of New Orleans!"
Finally, Ledisi kept her caption simple, merely writing, "Honored."
Each Super Bowl 2025 performer will be accompanied by an American Sign Language translator, with Switched at Birth actor Stephanie Nogueras joining Jon, Lauren, and Trombone Shorty, and TikTok creator Otis Jones signing for Ledisi. The highly-anticipated halftime show with Kendrick Lamar and SZA will then be signed by Matt Maxey.
The Super Bowl LIX will be played at Caesars Superdome on Sunday, February 9, 2025 and can be streamed on Paramount+.
Ahead of the game, you can also check out Apple's Halftime Show Pregame Artist Interviews with Jon, Ledisi, Trombone Shorty, and Lauren, taking place on February 6 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. CST. The interviews will be available to stream on Apple Music, YouTube, X, and Facebook.
