Brooke Henderson has drained a short eagle putt on the first playoff hole to win the LPGA Tour's ShopRite Classic in New Jersey.

Canadian Henderson outduelled Lindsey Weaver-Wright of the US on the first extra hole.

Both players shot 12-under 201 in regulation on Sunday but Weaver-Wright made a par 5 on the playoff hole at No.18.

Henderson set up her victory with a stellar second shot, with the ball stopping about six feet from the hole. She shot a seven-under 64 in regulation while earning her 11th career victory.

Weaver-Wright, 28, fired a 65 and is still searching for her first LPGA win.

"With playoffs, you really only have one opportunity so I just tried to go out and hit really solid shots," Henderson said.

"So to walk up that fairway and see that I only had a pretty short (putt) was a big relief. Just needing two putts to win was also really clutch."

Henderson's victory is her first since prevailing at the LA Open nearly 14 months ago.

"I'm just super excited," Henderson, who also posted five birdies in a bogey-free round, added.

"It felt like a long time since my 10th victory. I've been putting in some work."

Weaver-Wright had six birdies, including four over the last six holes of her bogey-free round. She birdied the 17th and 18th in order to force a playoff.

Englishwoman Jodi Ewart Shadoff (67) eagled No.18 to finish third at 11 under while Lydia Ko of New Zealand and Switzerland's Albane Valenzuela both shots 67s and finished tied for fourth at 10 under.

Australian's Stephanie Kyriacou (71) and Su Oh (72) finished equal-25th at four under.

Defending champion Celine Boutier of France fired a 63 to finish eight under while world No.1 Jin Young Ko of South Korea finished at five under after a final-round 70.
